The British Academy of Film and Television
tribute to Dame Judi Dench was broadcast on BBC1 on January 12, 2002. At a special
ceremony in
London, she followed in the footsteps of Sir Michael Caine and the late director Stanley
Kubrick by being awarded a Bafta fellowship in recognition
of her outstanding contribution to television and film.

Dame Judi Dench is to be honoured by the British
Academy Of Film And Television Arts (BAFTA) in a special TV tribute.
The event - which is being held on 9 December in London's West End, and will be broadcast
on BBC1 - is to be hosted by actor a
nd comic Stephen Fry.
Oscar-winning actress Dame Judi will be awarded the BAFTA Fellowship - its highest
accolade.
Guests are to include Pierce Brosnan, Richard E Grant, Joseph Fiennes, Rupert Everett,
Jim Broadbent, Richard Briers,
Geoffrey Palmer, Dame Maggie Smith, Sir John Mills, June Whitfield and Rufus
Sewell.
